Device Requirements

Q: What devices are compatible?
A: Motion Tracker requires a device with LiDAR sensor:

iPhone 12 Pro, 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, 16 Pro, 17 Pro (and Pro Max models)
iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation or newer)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation or newer)
iPad Pro 13-inch

Standard iPhone and iPad models do not have LiDAR and cannot run this app.

Getting Started

Q: How do I track motion?
A:

Grant camera permission when prompted
Choose a tracking mode (Manual Point or Color Tracking)
Select a target by tapping on screen
Press “Start Recording” and move your device or target
Press “Stop Recording” to view graphs

Q: What’s the difference between Manual Point and Color Tracking?
A:

Manual Point: Tap to select a fixed point (wall, person, object). Best for large targets.
Color Tracking: Tap a colored object to track it automatically. Best for small, bright objects like tennis balls.

Purchase & Pricing

Q: How many free recordings do I get?
A: 8 free recordings across all modes.

Q: What does the Pro version cost?
A: $4.99 USD one-time purchase for unlimited recordings. No subscription.

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com

Q: Does my purchase work on multiple devices?
A: Yes! Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. Use “Restore Purchases” on other devices.

Using the App

Q: Why can’t I see any graphs?
A: Make sure you:

Selected a target before recording
Moved the device or target during recording
Stopped the recording to view graphs

Q: How do I export my data?
A: After recording, tap “Export Data” to save as CSV or copy to Desmos.

Q: What does “Copy to Desmos” do?
A: Formats your data for the Desmos graphing calculator and copies it to your clipboard.

Troubleshooting

Q: App says “LiDAR sensor required”
A: Your device does not have a LiDAR sensor. This app only works on iPhone Pro and iPad Pro models with LiDAR (see compatible devices above).

Q: Camera permission denied
A: Go to Settings → Motion Tracker → Camera → Enable

Q: AR tracking isn’t working
A:

Ensure good lighting
Avoid reflective or transparent surfaces
Make sure camera lens is clean
Try selecting a point with good contrast

Q: Color tracking loses the object
A:

Use bright, solid colors (yellow, orange, green work best)
Ensure good lighting
Keep background different from target color
Avoid very small objects

Privacy

Q: What data does the app collect?
A: None! Motion Tracker does not collect any personal data. All processing happens on your device. See our Privacy Policy.

Q: Does the app use my camera data?
A: The camera is only used for AR motion tracking. No photos or videos are captured or stored.
